anybody ever use any of this? sounds interesting enough, especially the little camera.

I can’t imagine a use for the band-4 and band-6 stuff other than cheating…any ideas?

哎呀，不一定是考试作弊的时候才用的！在这些东西里面，这个针孔式摄像头是最恐怖，最可恶的了。它体型小巧，极易隐蔽。经有一段时间，听说在台湾的旅店（尤其是情侣旅店love hotel）和公共厕所里被恶意安装了大量针孔式摄像头，录下了许多人的隐私，并在互联网上播放，更有甚者，那简直是“现场直播”。害得台湾当时到处人心惶惶，大家都害怕不知哪天自己就在互联网上当“主角”了。

反屏蔽防探测：antic-shielding / screening, dection resistant
因为对讲机是靠电磁波进行通讯的，所谓的“反屏蔽”就是反电磁礴屏蔽。为了防止学生用手机或对讲机作弊，国家有专门的电磁波屏蔽机，一旦有大型的考试（如高考、研究生入学统考、国家技术水平考试、语等级考试、甚至TOFEFL、GRE等）就进行信号屏蔽，这样在考场1~2公里的范围内，在考试期间没有电磁波信号。不过，道高一尺，魔高一丈。这年头，一些不法分子为了帮助某些学生将作弊进行到底并从中获取暴利，就弄出了反屏蔽防探测的作弊工具。

今天再补充一个用途——给演员当提词工具。所谓“提词”，就是提醒台词。因为现在拍戏（尤其是电视剧）都要赶进度，以便节省成本，所以演员在拍摄期间休息的时间就不多，有时候还碰上大段大段的台词，或者很拗口、很专业、古文一类的台词，就很麻烦。像美国的电视剧CSI（香港译名：灭罪鉴证科）、ER（译名：急症室的故事）和中国内地拍的一系列帝王、历史题材的电视剧等等，都有类似的情况。
我国目前的做法是，在室外拍摄的话，就叫片场的工作人员用扬声器站在远处给演员提醒台词；在室内拍摄的话，就叫工作人员站在隐秘的地方读台词。这两种做法都不太理想，因为用扬声器的话不利于现场录音，叫工作人员站在隐秘的地方的话，由于室内拍摄现场的条件有限，容易影响摄影师搞灯光效果和掌握拍摄角度，搞不好还容易弄出搞笑的镜头。如果是用隐型耳机的话，问题就好办了，它体积很小，可以隐蔽在演员的耳朵里，不影响演员的造型，不影响现场录音，而且大大缓解演员背台词的压力，使他们能够集中更多精力去发挥演。

Well, sure. They’re advertising these cameras and earpieces, but then they mention band-6 exam equipment specifically – I’m just wondering what use such equipment would have apart from exam cheating – the prompter sounds like a reasonable guess, but how many of us are expecting to engage in presidential debates in the near future?
