   What is 天星? (I know i could find out by searching, but that’s so impersonal . . .)

   天星 is 天星小輪 (Star Ferry). The landmark ferry pier with its clock tower in Central/Hong Kong has been pulled down to make way for new roads despite objection from the general public. Obviously nobody had paid enough attention to the demolition plan during the consultation process until the press reported its imminent demolition (i.e. way too late).
