Signese.com is a collection of photos of Chinese characters in action. Although most are taken by myself on the streets of Beijing, many are contributions, which can be sent directly from your mobile phone.

Incidentally, if you ever find yourself in this particular piece of Beijing (running north from a car park opposite the west gate of Jingshan Gongyuan), do bear in mind that this hutong is a)very long, b) very slippy after snow and c) a dead end.
