Signese.com is a collection of photos of Chinese characters in action. Although most are taken by myself on the streets of Beijing, many are contributions, which can be sent directly from your mobile phone.
Queries and thoughts about the photos are always welcome via the comment function.

这是蔬菜吗?(真抱歉,看不出是什么蔬菜。)好奇怪,要罚一万元?怎么罚?要罚款得拿得出盖行政单位公章的发票或者有法院发的判决书才可以罚款的,乱来可不行。
放这个警告牌在这里的人,不知读过《宪法》或《民法通则》没有?

I am not sure exactly what they had planted there, possibly pumpkin. But definitely not something worth NT$10,000!!! (Photo taken in Taiwan so the amount is in Taiwan dollars). I don’t know exactly how they would enforce the fine either.

My~ ~!, I think that it is me who should say “sorry”. And I think it is my terrible sentence “放这个警告牌在这里的人,不知读过《宪法》或《民法通则》没有” doesn’t make clear sense. (这是我不好,十分抱歉!) I had thought before I read your words above that the man who puts the warming board in “that farmland” must be a law-blind 法盲 in China mainland. I really hope that my terrible sentence won’t bother you any more!

I don’t think it is worth NT$10,000 (about RMB3,000), either. The warming broad looks like a ridiculous paper tiger纸老虎.
